
Abuja, Nigeria’s capital city, was established in 1976. It is located in the middle of the country. The Federal Capital Territory has a land area of 8,000 square kilometers; and is bordered by Kaduna State, Niger State, Plateau State, and Kogi State.
The University of Abuja; National Open University of Nigeria, Durbem Polytechnic, Nigerian Law School, the College of Education Zuba and some private tertiary institutions are located in the FCT.
There are over 538 primary health facilities, 493 private health facilities, and 173 tertiary and secondary referral hospitals in Abuja.

The majority of Civil Servants, Legislators and the Executive arms of government reside in the FCT. Subsistence farming is also carried out, Artisans, Trading, Small and Medium scale business.
